Our wait is over, Daughters. We are back with a brand-new episode of the DAR Today Podcast, shining under the leadership of President General Mrs. Ginnie Sebastian Storage. Together, we will tell our DAR story one episode at a time—and it all starts today. Be sure to listen, subscribe, and share as we Illuminate Our Legacy on the road to America 250.
Hello and welcome, Daughters and America, to the DAR Today Podcast. I’m your host, True Lewis, National Chair.
When I first joined the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, I never imagined that my own family’s journey—stretching back to a Patriot ancestor in the American Revolution—would connect me to so many women across generations, across communities, and across the country. And that is exactly what this new era is about under the leadership of our 47th President General, Mrs. Ginnie Sebastian Storage, and her powerful theme, Illuminate Our Legacy.
We are shining a light on the women, the stories, and the service that will lead us into America 250 and beyond.
Over the next three years, we will share voices from every corner of our Society—stories of preservation, patriotism, and service—all building toward our historic milestone from 2026 through 2028. My personal challenge to you, as a Daughter, is to lean in: share your story, volunteer for projects, and invite the next generation of women to join us. This is our moment—not only to honor our legacy, but to illuminate it.
I couldn’t be more honored or more excited to begin this journey with each of you. As we reflect on our founders who lit the way before us, it is now our turn to carry the light forward—guided by President General Mrs. Storage’s vision and theme, Illuminate Our Legacy. This is a call to action and a spark lighting our path to America 250.
Over the next three years, this podcast will be your go-to space for conversations that shine a light on who we are, what we are doing, where we come from, and—most importantly—where we are going as Daughters of the American Revolution.
We will feature members from every corner of the country, keep you informed, highlight service, celebrate history, and share our stories one episode at a time. If you’re new here, welcome. If you’re not a Daughter, we welcome you as well. One of my goals is to be a bridge to America—so you can see what Daughters do in your counties, communities, cities, and even overseas. DAR is active everywhere, and this podcast gives you a unique opportunity to fellowship with us and learn what we truly do.
DAR does a lot of deeds. Our service speaks volumes, and our words are like seeds—they plant gardens. We are a Legacy in Bloom.
What can you expect from the DAR Today Podcast? Exclusive interviews with national and state leadership, special America 250 features, commemorative events, and voices from the past, the present, and the future—including our youth, the Children of the American Revolution. Every episode is designed to engage, uplift, and connect you to the vibrant pulse of our Society as we work together to Illuminate Our Legacy.
I would not be TRUE if I didn’t thank our outgoing National Chair, Brooke Stewart, our National Vice Chairs, and our inaugural committee. The foundation laid over the past three years made this moment possible. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and vision. If I missed anyone, please charge it to my mind and not my heart.
I also ask for your continued support of our National Vice Chairs. They are the face of today’s DAR and this podcast. This Society has given me so much, and this podcast is one way we give back to you.
Our team is extraordinary. Our writers and researchers, Jennifer and Haley; our producers and designers, Ann and Céline; and Lyndsay, who keeps this podcast sounding exceptional and innovating at every level. Samantha, Edy, and Jen keep everything running smoothly—Edy as our Guest Care Coordinator, setting the tone for how we welcome our guests, and Jen providing outstanding photography and videography. Your podcast is truly in good hands.
Thank you to our loyal listeners, our seasoned veterans, our Daughters, and our broader community—America. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, non-political women’s service organization united by lineage to a Patriot of the American Revolution and a shared commitment to historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
We extend heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to President General Mrs. Ginnie Sebastian Storage for her visionary leadership and the guiding light of her theme, Illuminate Our Legacy. We also recognize our Liaison, Curator General Mrs. Renee Pace, for her unwavering support during this transition.
My charge to you is simple: take what you’ve heard today and act on it. Join a committee. Support a chapter project. Start something new. Tell someone about DAR. Together, we can ensure that when America celebrates her 250th birthday, our legacy shines brighter than ever.
